DEN BUILDING
I started den building in 2009, whilst doing my art degree. I started to think about how creating art was just as important and engaging as the art itself. With this thought and the fact I had three young kids all wanting to play, I started thinking of my own childhood and how the planning and building of activities such as den building were not only engaging but I think they had a significant positive effect on my childhood. With all this in mind I decided to try and create the dream job and make a living out of watching, encouraging and helping people make dens. All these years later I still love it, yes I made a living out of den building!! I have been lucky enough to work with thousands of people in schools, galleries, community centres, parks, woodlands, shopping centres, festivals, prisons....I even got asked to do some den building in a lift with anyone who got in it, you name it!! It's the best job in world.
